柴神社秋季例大祭

 

This is a short documentary about Autumn Festival of Shiba Shrine in Eiheiji town, Fukui Pref. Japan.There is a historic shrine in the town. After finishing harvest in autumn.People hold a festival and walk around the town with carrying a portable shrine, in order to thank nature and invite the God to their community, because they think nature and the God give them rich harvest and lives.

福井県、永平寺町、柴神社秋季例大祭。奈良時代より続く歴史あるこの神社では、秋になり収穫の季節を終えると、五穀豊穣を与えてくれた自然である神様に感謝の意を伝え、人々の暮らしを見てもらおうと、祭りを開き神輿を担いで町を練り歩くという風習が今も行われている。
